Question I cant copy read-only file normally

Well the CD i try to drag and drop onto my desktop, i already know it a read only file so i can't rewrite it. After i select all the file i wanted and drag it toward my desktop, what i get was a shortcut not the real file. What is going on? Why it make shortcut not the real copy of it? and there was a CD type on the right of the window and it stated "CDFS" what that means?

Have you tried just right clicking to copy and paste?

Oh!...I thought drag and drop are the same as copy and paste, well at least I learned something.

I know there are converters out there, but I've not seen a free one. That's not to say there aren't any, but I've yet to find the elusive little buggers.

Re: I cant copy read-only file normally

CD audio tracks can be made into mp3's by a lot of programs. Windows Media Player being one of them. Here's a link to MicroSoft's instructions on how to do it. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...vice/0080.mspx
