Mouse Pause and Sluggish Computer

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a new mouse (Logitech MX518) to replace my old one after I started experiencing some really bad mouse stutter while Gaming or just regular use (Browsing Internet, 3d Modeling, ect.) the problem is that my new mouse lags just the same, it even seems to be getting worse daily, and my computer seems to be developing slow load times (most noticeable in games).

Since it's getting worse I'm afraid it might be some other hardware in my newly built computer. The one part that seems most likely to have issues I think would be my Video Card, which has reached some pretty high temps (Used to get 105C before I got better cooling, now reaches 85C in gaming.) so maybe my video card got damaged by the temps, I dunno.

If any of you have any ideas on how I could fix this problem it'd be much appreciated.

Here's some info on my computer that may be useful:

Windows Vista 64 Bit SP1
Processor: Intel Core Duo E8400
MB: P5Q Pro
Video Card: EVGA 9800GX2
Memory: G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 1066

P.S. Something I just noticed while using task manager is that an svchost is using up a 153,000k Memory and about 3% of my CPU, which may be related to this issue. (I don't know much about svchosts so I dunno if this is normal.)

Re: Mouse Pause and Sluggish Computer

actually the svchosts are normal thats the windows OS working there

how many fans do you have and which are blowing and which are sucking air?
9800gx2 from what I've heard gets really hot so you need a good cooling system in place

also you might want to download everest and post the system temps here

Re: Mouse Pause and Sluggish Computer

Using Everest this is all the info I got about my temps:
]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sensor Properties:
Sensor Type HDD

Temperatures:
WDC WD6400AAKS-65A7B0 30 °C (86 °F)

I don't know if that's enough info, but that's all it shows. Here's more of my temps using Rivatuner and ASUS Probe II:

Video Card:
(Idle temps)
Core temperature 0: 57C
Core temperature 1: 58C

In Crysis I get about 83C on core 0 and 87C on core 1

CPU: 33C
MB: 39C

I have a 120mm fan in front and an 80mm on the side sucking air in. I also have my case slightly opened on the side and put 2 extra 80mm case fans on the opening, blowing air beneath my video card, while trying not to blow the hot air from the video card's exhaust back on itself.

Then there's 1 120mm fan in the back blowing air out.

Both of my 120mm case fans are Silverstone FM121's and they've been pretty good fans (says max 110.03 CFM where I bought them).

Re: Mouse Pause and Sluggish Computer

in crysis you probably have post processing on turn it off it will most likely dramatically reduce your cpu temps
