From HDTV back to monitor

I just bought a new pc. I had my old pc hooked to my LCD HDTV and moved it to the family room. I hooked it up to widescreen 22" monitor that it used to be hooked up to and all I get is "No Input Signal". The PC boots and monitor is good. I brought old pc back and hooked to HDTV and works fine. I tried 3 cables (DVI,DVI-D and VGA w/DVI adapter) and still get no input signal. Could the PC still be set to HDTV settings which keep monitor from recognizing pc? Is there a way to reset monitor or pc without moving it back and messing with all cables? Is it common problem for peoplee moving from HDTV back to a monitor? I leave it to the experts here to solve, a lot of great minds here. Thanks in advance for any help.
