Hi,
I'm only about 4 hours after formatting/redoing windows on my Dell Dimension 2400, everything else has worked out fine, have used the dell drivers, etc, however the mouse won't work! I am getting power to it (the laser light is on) but there is nothing in device manager - no yellow bits, but there is also no section for mice. ( )I tried loading in Safe mode, and all this did was knock the keyboard out of commission. If all it is is a dodgy install, then fair enough - but has anyone had similar problems? Tearing my hair out here! ![]() Not to seem thick - but what controlls the PS2 ports - is it the main board? Might have a bad version of its' driver? Thanks in advance for any replies that might be forthcoming.

Re: Windows not recognizing mouse!
The PS/2 ports don't need drivers. Any chance you can try a different mouse? Or at least check the pins on the mouse and give the port a blow in case of dust.
Worst case scenario is that you'll have to buy a USB mouse if the port is broken. |
