Computer Randomly shuts off

At first I thought it was an overheating issue but I left it off for an hour, turned it on and was using the net and within 10 minutes it shut off. And the fan is still working

Any suggestions?

Re: Computer Randomly shuts off

so I checked the temp after another random shut down and it was at least 45 degrees lower than the shut down temp. I am guessing it is a power issue but I left it on for at least 24. Hours the day before in safe mode and installed xp and it didn't shut off once.

Re: Computer Randomly shuts off

Update: I bought a new power adapter. The computer is an Acer Power 1000 and it's power cord is actually a cord connected to an adapter. Exactly like a laptop's. So the new power cord/adapter was working perfectly and then all of a sudden, BAM. Random shut off, AGAIN!

This is ridiculous. I need some serious help here. I'll take any suggestions. Por favor. I'm losing my mind.
