PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
Geforce 8800gtx
audigy2 sound card LG 42" hdtv Hi, I am currently trying to connect my PC to my TV. i am using: 1. a DVI to HDMI adapter to an HDMI cable to my TV. 2. from my TV I have RCA cables going into extensions (not long enough)... then from the extension it turns into a headphone connection (mini stereo?). I thought I wasn't getting any audio at all then I realized with my TV maxed and my computer almost maxed I could barely hear it, turning it up even louder will give me painful sounding crackling and no real audio. But keeping it low i can hear it with my ears up to the speakers but thats about it. /out of ideas please help Derrick |

Re: PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
which connection do you have the TV plugged into? rear out, side out, front out, or center/sub?
In the creative mixer, what settings do you have for the balance/fade?

Re: PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
I havent used the audigy line, but for the 7.1 setupos, there should be, on the main mixer panel, a L/R balance bar along the bottom, and a F/R fader at the right of the panel. Do regular PC speakers work in the same port the TV is plugged in? Are you using the digital output of the card?

Re: PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
i turned it to 7.1 sound in the mixer and that brought up the front to rear balance but no L/R. I will try regular speakers later today, but it was on "headphones" before "7.1 surround" so maybe that was a problem. im not sure on the digital output i just have logitech speakers plugged into my green port and then the line from the tv in my logitech volume control to make it easier (but ive already tried taking that out and putting directly into my sound card and i have the same results)

Re: PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
So you were only using headphones? I'd have a 5.1 plugged into that unit in no time- that's what it's really for, HD audio. You have the external version, correct?
Also, if you have your headphones plugged in, you won't get any audio (or very limited) from the card.

Re: PC to TV video/audio - barely audible
ah, ok. Creative has alot of external versions of their sound cards. But where you have the TV plugged in at, is it at full volume if/when you plug in normal PC speakers or your headphones? If not, i'd go probing around Creative Mixer some more. If so, i'd be checking and double checking cables.
