Video cards

I'm fairly certain I know the answer to this, but it never hurts to ask.
When buying a new video card, the obvious thing to check first is what slots you have........ie.....PCI....AGP...PCIE.......in my case I obviously have PCI slots, but my video slot is for PCIE. My computer RAM is DDR2 SDRAM ......3X1GB, DIM. Do I have to match the RAM of the video card to my existing RAM........or will a video card with DDR3 work without complications?

Hi.

DDR3 Ram on the card will work fine.

The System RAM and GPU RAM are not connected to each other.
