[SOLVED] scanner not recognised

Hi
I have just bought a new system (old one's mobo died

) and have spent lotsa time re-installing software etc.
The only thing i can't seem to get working is my Canon D1250U2 scanner. It does not show in the device manager - I have tried booting with it plugged in, booting without it and then plugging it in, scan for hardware changes etc. but nothing seems to want the system to recognise that it is there.

Any ideas?

look for canons driver uninstall app called Deldrv and run it and then try the reinstall

thanks dai - This morning I retried the "boot up with scanner unplugged and then plug it in" scenario and hey presto! this time the comp detected the scanner
