First, I am not sure iif this is in the right location, but it kind of makes sense.
I have just finished building a PC, this is my first build. I attached all the components (listed below) and when I went to power up for the first time, the lights on the fans, and the PSU lite up, the HDD was audibly spining up, but nothing came up on the monitor. I spoke to a few friends who are more experienced than I am, but that really does not say much. They told me to swap out the video card to see if that was the issue. I did and the same results. Another friend told me to pull the RAM, and try having just one in for the power to see if RAM is bad. I did and same results with all 4 stilcks. I even went to the MOBO's manufacturer website and all they said was to clear CMOS, make sure connects are clean and jumpers are set right. I did each of those, except the CMOS clearing as I don't know how to do that. Does anyone here have any other ideas on what this problem could be and how to fix it?? Hardware info: Thermaltake M9 Case ASUS P5N-E Motherboard Intel Q6600 2.4Ghz Seagate 400Gb HDD Nvidia 8800GT 6Gb RAM (2 x 2GB and 1 x 1 GB sticks) Apevia Iceberg 680W PSU Running Windows Vista Ultimate. Re: New Build Problem
To clear the CMOS, you can either move the jumper from pins 1 & 2 to pins 2 & 3, and after a few minutes, put the jumper back /OR/ You can simply remove the motherboard battery (looks like a watch battery) for a few minutes and put it back.
Here is a great place to start if that does not work: Bench Test Your System

Re: New Build Problem
Tumbleweed, Thank you for your advice. I was able to get the computer working, it was a case of inexperience and being way too tired to troubleshot the issue. I had forgotten to plug in the ATX power cable.
