Why have I had no interest in my used pc

I want to sell my used computer, but have not had any interest and I don't know how much to ask for it either. This is the advert I am using. I bought the computer for £449.00 in Jan 2008 and I'm asking £300 for it now. I know I'm not asking in correct section but was not sure what section to go into.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Packard Bell Imed 2410 Virtually brand New, still has Manufacturer's Guarantee. Has Norton Anti Virus valid until Feb 2009. One very careful owner screen in immaculate condition and has not been used for downloads.

The 250GB hard drive can store up to 62,500 music tracks and your games and videos will look fantastic on the 19'' Packard Bell TFT Monitor.

AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 4200+1MB Cache Memory
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Premium
1024MB RAM Memory
250GB Hard Drive
Dual Layer DVD Re-Writer Drive
NVidia GeForce 7500LE Graphics 64MB upto 320MB Turbo Cache
8-In-1 Media Card Reader 6 USB Connections
19" Packard Bell TFT Monitor
Integrated Motherboard

Genuine reason for sale, now have laptop.

Allo Tara and welcome to TSF Forum

If you're prepared to vary the price a little, you could try adding 'or nearest offer' after the price

Re: Why have I had no interest in my used pc

Personally, I wouldn't advertise it as a gaming machine (even just mentioning how great the games will look on it) as any gamers looking at it will know that the video card isn't too hot (and pre-builds like that usually can't be upgraded because the manufacturers only put a power supply in that's capable of supporting the components the machine was shipped with).

I can certainly go with the idea that pictures of it will help, as many people won't even read the advert if there aren't any. A lot of budget machine buyers might also be shying away from Vista, having heard scary stories about it being rubbish, but I guess there's not much you can do about that for now (and on that machine, I can't imagine you're having too many problems anyway).

Aside from that, given the current economic forecasts, I can only imagine that people simply aren't spending their money on computers, as they're expecting to have to spend it on energy so you may have to be even more flexible on the price. What I'd do to get a better idea is check eBay for similar machines, and monitor the auctions for a few days, see what sort of prices they're going for on there.

Re: Why have I had no interest in my used pc

hello Tara ,

i mean that you should take som pics of the monitor showing a web site on the screen so that they will have a pic of it while it is connected to the internet

this kills all questions of the ability of it working

there are lots of scammers out there

i just had to build a system for a client that bought a system on Ebay but it came with instructions to never turn it off

she did 5 days later & it never restarted !!!!

to her surprise she was never able to recontack the seller

Mike
