Benq G2400W LCD monitor
I have problems with this monitor's 1:1 pixel mapping feature. I've readed and heard from many places that this monitor should be able to pixel map every other lesser resolution than its own native 1920x1200. So it should make the black bars in top, sides and the bottom. My problem is, it's not doing that with some resolutions like 1920x1080, 1680x1050 and 1600x900. But its working perfectly with resolutions like 1600x1200 (black bars both sides as there should be), 1440x900 (black bars in the bottom, top and the rear sides) etc. I hope someone could help me because i haven't found any solutions yet and i really want that feature working with those resolutions too. My PC is connected to the monitor with DVI cable and my graphic card is Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB with newest WHQL 32-bit win xp drivers.

Re: Benq G2400W LCD monitor
Is your DVI cable, DVI-D or DVI-A?
You can tell by looking at the larger flat pin in the plug, if it has four small pins around it then its DVI-D.

Re: Benq G2400W LCD monitor
I have this kind of connector http://xs231.xs.to/xs231/08373/clipboard01284.jpg
I think that is a DVI-D. And when there is a four pins around that flat pin, it's a DVI-I connector? Correct if I mistake. |

Sorry yes, Im the dumbo. DVI-I.Yes, thats a DVI-D cable, you are more likely to get the full range of resolutions with a DVI-I cable.

Re: Benq G2400W LCD monitor
If trying a DVI-I cable doesn't resolve the issue, take it back. Might be a common manufacturers fault.

Re: Benq G2400W LCD monitor
I have asked about this issue from Benq support and they said that I can get 1920x1080 resolution and some other higher wide resolutions only with a HDMI cable. I don't believe that it's true. I know that consoles which are connected to the monitor need HDMI. But I'v heard and readed that other people gets that 1920x1080 with DVI and every PC hardware magazine I'v readed has said that 1920x1080 resolution is possible in G2400W with DVI cable in PC. Don't know what is true. Maybe its just manufacturers fault or something like that.

Re: Benq G2400W LCD monitor
The DVI-I dual channel cables I suggested are almost exactly the same as HDMI, just in a different pin layout and without audio support built in. If you were to buy an HDMI to DVI-I convertor cable, you should get the result you are after.
