[SOLVED] IDE Optical Drives not recognized in BIOS
This is a tough one, i'm lost lol.
Basically i was fixing my old spanish teacher's computer (kept shutting off, turned out to be a short in the front I/O chip). However, now we have a new problem. The CD/DVD drives aren't recognizing in BIOS or Windows. I've tried the following to fix: 1: Tried going to a single CD drive set on Master, and CS 2: Tried a new Cable 3: Tried a new CD Drive 4: Inspected the cable plug in to make sure no busted pins that i could detect. The computer runs on a sata drive so the HDD is not on the IDE cable. I don't know where to turn to next, the BIOS doesn't even recognize it (If you go to boot options, it shows "Not Found" for the CD Drive.) Any ideas? i'm running a diagnostic test on the utility partition but it's not coming up with any errors. |
