Computer won't turn on
I own a Dell Dimension E510, which stopped turning on a few weeks ago. At first, it wouldn't boot into windows, but the power button would flash orange (like stand-by).
I brought it in to a PC shop, and they cleaned a lot of dust off it, which made it work for a day. However, it wouldn't even respond when I pressed the power button on after that. I brought my PC in again to the shop, and they figured it was the power supply. So, I replaced the power supply, and the power cord, and it worked fine in the shop. However, when I returned home, it still wouldn't turn on. I figured it was the power outlet, but it wasn't. My computer wouldn't turn on with any of the outlets in my house (which work fine). So, I'm left with this problem: My PC turns on in a neighborhood store, but won't turn on in my house. Please help!

Re: Computer won't turn on
I'm working on an E510 as well, someone was having a similar problem, it could very well be a short in the front I/O chip (the one that takes the power on button). Hers was busted so it would flicker on and off, or shut off randomly, she replaced the motherboard and power supply before that but after replacing the chip it hasn't done it anymore. You can ebay "E510 I/O Port" or "Dell Front I/O" or something similar. Should be the fix ;-) Sheesh though, wish Dell made half way decent computers :P
