Monitor Driver Problems Samsung 191T

Hi,

I am having ptoblems with the Digital drivers that you install for the Samsung 191T monitor. When installing the drivers you have a choice of Analogue (Product ID code on EDID SAM0013) and Digital (SAM0014).

The installation goes well and everthing you check suggests that the Digital drivers are installed, however on re-boot (now using just the DVI Cable) the screen is blank with a "NO Signal Message".

So, I went back to basics and checked the EDID for both the VGA and DVI Ports on the monitor - no problem there SAM0013 for VGA and SAM0014 for DVI.

I then checked the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum|D isplay\........

and was amazed to find that although the description of the current driver was Digital the Hardware ID was SAM0013 (Analogue).

I've checked the driver (.inf file) and it shows both options as being available, however, no matter which driver you select to install it seems to default to loading the SAM0013 Analogue driver.

Samsung don't seem to have a problem with this as the only driver set to be issued is Version 1.0

Can anyone help; I've got HL2 lined up to play but just can't bring myself to play it in VGA mode. The frustration is killing me.

Thanks

Swampy
