no signal on monitor
I have a custom built athlon computer running xp, and its been fine for the last several months, and about 2 months ago i had to buy a used monitor because my other one kicked. I leave my computer on all the time, but a few weeks ago the power went out so i had to reboot, when i did the computer would start up but then all of a sudden gettin into windows the monitor would just go into a sleep mode and say no signal.. or sometimes if i havent been on my computer for 24 hours i will come back and the monitors off and wont go back on... the only way i can use my computer now is in safe mode with networking. im not sure if its my computer settings messed up or the monitor but dunno , i havent changed anything.

Most likely your monitor is not capable of the resolution or refresh rate that XP is feeding it. Since it works ok in safe mode it's not really a hardware issue, but the setup for the monitor. You could try using the "detect new hardware" feature in add new hardware in C.P. This should detect the monitor you're using and set correct paramaters.
