Headphone Microphone Not Working

Hello,

I recently purchased Cyber Snipa sonar 5.1 headset and it has given me no trouble for a month or so. I rarely used the microphone but it worked when I got it. Now today I find that no matter what I try the microphone refuses to pick up any voice whatsoever. It is a USB headset so it isn't plugged in wrong and I checked and it is not muted.

I would appreciate any help that could be given on the matter.

Do you need a driver for it? Sometimes some usb devices need a driver in order to function properly.

Did Windows also show that "New Hardware detected" bubble in your task tray? Sometimes if Windows tries to configure USB items it winds up screwing it up.

I have already downloaded the driver and installed it when I got the headset. I have the most up to date drivers but the microphone still won't work. I'm not sure if it is a hardware problem or a software problem.
