Mouse problems

My mouse generally works fine, but every so often I have trouble. When i press the buttons nothing happens. Sometimes I have to click the buttons like 50 times to get them to work. I am using a wireless mouse so i'm wondering if the connection is the problem. I changed the batteries and that did nothing. Is there a way to test my mouse to determine if the problem is the mouse, the computer or the connection?

my issue is the oposite, also wireless. I'll click once and the comp will click no telling how many times. But wired mouse is fine.

Always have to wonder if there's something in the way using the same freq..

How far away is the mouse from the receiver?
