Need a Modem, but what kind

I have a Dell with a motherboard DS/N CN-oH1290 - 378 - 160D.

I presume that means a Socket 378, but I don't know what the 160D indicates.

In any case, I want to install a dial-up modem. I have an old US Robotics PCI but it won't fit in the open slots.

I will have to buy one somewhere but don't know what I need. What kind of a modem will fit?

Re: Need a Modem, but what kind

Hi, JoCo
Is this a Dell Optiplex?
Is this the motherboard?

Look under System Board and then Expansion Card.

Re: Need a Modem, but what kind

It looks nothing like that. As I review other system boards by Dell I would have to conclude that it is a Dimension 8300. The 8300 picture looks just like what I have with four slots placed where mine are found.

Re: Need a Modem, but what kind

Hi,
If you have four PCI Slots then you just need a PCI Modem; I don't know why your old modem doesn't fit without knowing the model.
As it's a dial-up internet sevice you want, look for a 56K Internet PCI Modem V.92.
