Celeron equlivant Pentium

I've got a Celeron 1.0G with 256K processor. I'm wondering what is the equlivant Pentium processor to this a PII or PIII speed.

Anyone know or know where I could find out

Frankly, 1000 Mhz is 1000 Mhz regardless of what label you put on it. And the 256k indicates a 256k cache memory on the chip. The main thing is for the motherboard Bios to be compatable with whichever chip you choose to use. If you want it to go faster, it's not the brand that makes it go faster, it's the speed that makes it go faster. So a 1.0G (1000Mhz) is pretty fast, a 1.7G (1700Mhz) is faster, a 2.4G (2400Mhz) is faster yet. And bumping the 256 to 512 doesn't hurt either. Note that steps in the cache memory size goes in doubles, the next step is 1024. I believe P-II tops out about 650 or 750Mhz, and I don't think the P-III would do but about 950Mhz tops, I'm not sure of these numbers, as I'd need to look these up to get correct specs. There were many P-II processors that ran at 300-450Mhz range, and were the fastest kids on their block in their day. Hope this answers your question.
