Monitor trouble

Hi My son had the same trouble, Just try lowering some of the settings in the game eg The sims 2. Lower Things like graphics settings, Just lower them down in stages, try at each stage untill the graphics in the game run ok. I will have a look on my sons game to see what settings we lowered, but it will work. The sims use a lot of memory, as the game requires a more powerful computer, hope this helps.

Idea update.

Just to let you know the settings I have set in the game the sims2.
Once the game is up and running, go into the computer symbol, you can then adjust the settings. My settings are.
Shadows : high
lighting : high
texture detail : medium
screen size : 1024 x 768
smooth edges: less
graphics effect : high
sim/object : high
reflections : on
refresh Rate : 85
object and hiding : on
use square pixels : off
ui transparency : off
These are my settings, try , computers differ in preformance. This might not be your trouble but its worth a try.

Is the picture chopy or just line in it? If it starts to chop up could be you Video card is too under power for current setting depending on the size of you video card could be you need a new or just adjust some settings
