SK8135 disconnection problem
On my old PC set up running XP professional and SP2, I used a dell SK8135 model keyboard, a very nice keyboard and I never had any problems with it. Did a wipe and upgraded my motherboard RAM CPU and video card, however after that my keyboard would randomly disconnect from windows with the disconnect sound, then a reconnect sound a moment later and it would come back online.
I started using another keyboard after the frequency had increased in the disconnections, and eventually managed to get my hands on a new SK8135, and yet this keyboard still had the disconnection problem. No other keyboard has this issue with my system that I've tried out, and this model is my favorite model. Any idea what the problem could be? I've since then upgraded to SP3, and I don't know if this is a problem with my motherboard, or my software, though I've tried switching the USB port it is plugged into and it helps the problem for up to a day before starting again. (It disconnected twice during that third paragraph, once typing this, and not at all before, just to give you an idea of the frequency) |
