AMD 3200 Freezing at 400fsb

hey Guys,

I recently built a system for a friend and he has been having problems with playing games and watching dvds, the PC just freezes on him

Heres some specs:

AMD Athlon Barton XP 3200+ 400FSB
1GB PC2700 DDR333 OEM
Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394
256mb GF FX5700LE DDR TV/DVI Retail
160GB 8 MB Cache SATA Diamond Maxtor
Samsung Black DVD R/RW 16x12 Dual Layer

The PC works fine if i configure SW1 to run the processor at 100Mhz FSB, but when i change it to 200Mhz external FSB the system becomes unstable.

Iv updated all drivers, tried a different graphics and sound card and tried forcing the RAM to run slower but the games and DVDs still freeze and the PC must be restarted.

I am beginning to suspect the memory isnt happy with the 200 external / 400 internal fsb and causes the system to crash when its pushed during graphical tasks.

But before i go fork out for a 400mhz stick of ram i wondered if any of you have any suggestions?
