Mouse problem

I have a Logitech USB Mouse (wired) with a laser at the bottom. I believe its called the Logitech mx500 Optical Mouse. Well i have been using it for a good while (About a year maybe?) and it has served me quite well through all gaming experiences. Well, now, every 1 minute or two, it cant find the usb port of it, shuts off the mouse, and reconnects it. It keeps doing this during anything, even on my desktop. Now this could be because its old and its diein, but if its not, i dont want to just go buy another. If anyone can help me with this problem, i would really appreciate it.

Re: Mouse problem

I tried doing so but i dont think i uninstalled it completely. How would i go about completely removing my mouse drivers, and would that make it so my mouse is non-unsable? Thank you for the first answer and i hope you could guide me through the rest.

Re: Mouse problem

try it on another computer or try another mouse to see if you have the same problem. This will verify if its a mouse problem or something else.

Re: Mouse problem

Hey, thank you all for your suggestions. I tried the mouse on a different computer. Same thing happened. The problem is that this mouse is 3 years old. Lasted longer than any mouse i had so theres no trouble on my end.

Re: Mouse problem

you must play alot of games

If its happening on other computers as well, then its a bad mouse and unfortunately it may be time to replace it.

Re: Mouse problem

They are supposed to last longer than that? ooh boy. Well i got another logitech mouse, which i think is a step up from the old one =) (MX518 opposed to the MX500) And its running smoothly.
