USB Keyboard problems
I recently bought a new keyboard, it's the first USB keybard I've bought. Previously I have been using a PS/2 keyboard without any problems. They keyboard is Microsoft Reclusa gaming keyboard.
Now generally the keyboard works fine, all the special keys and stuff work too. But usually when I boot my PC windows fails to recognize the keyboard. I have to unplug it and then replug it for windows to recognize it. My old PS/2 keyboard works just fine with PS/2 port. However if I plug the USB keyboard in the PS/2 port via a USB to PS/2 adapter the keyboard won't work at all. For my system specs: OS: Windows XP Home edition SP3 Motherboard: Abit IP35 CPU: Intel Core Duo E8400 3.00 GHz RAM: 2GB Video card: ATI Raden 3870 HD 512 MB Though I'm fairly certain that my system has nothing to do with it since the keyboard works if I need to enter BIOS or change setting there. It only stops responding after windows starts. |

Re: USB Keyboard problems
There's been a few posts on the forum about the same problem with Microsoft Habu Mouse which is also a Microsoft Razer collaboration just like the reclusa.
I'll have another look later and see if they came up with a fix for it. But yeah I have a couple of mouses(/mice?) which don't work if I put it in the PS/2 port via a PS/2 adapter. Have you got all the latest drivers/firmware? |

Re: USB Keyboard problems
I got everything in the package. Driver CD and all that. I don't know if there's a more recent version of the driver though, could try to check on that.
Also after some googling I have found out that this is apparently a known problem with Windows XP and that there is apparently a fix for it in SP3, which I have and I still have the problem. Go Microsoft :> |

Re: USB Keyboard problems
Should be, I've checked and there isn't an entry like "Enable USB keyboard". The only entry related to USB keyboard is something like "enable USB keyboard form OS or BIOS" Besides if it wasn't enabled on Bios then why does it work if I unplug and replug it? I'm pretty sure it's windows messing something up =/
