I just built this a week ago and am just curious to know what it would have cost me to buy this from a store or a private builder. It would be interesting to see how much money I saved....

Re: How much could I sell this computer for?
Looks like it cost about 900 to 1,100 $. But to ask how much another place would charge is hard to say.
I could see an equal OEM (dell , hp , gateway) costing about 1,400. Or a private ebay builder chargeing maybe 1,100 to 1,200. Just offhand , your psu is a bit overkill huh?

Re: How much could I sell this computer for?
Good choice on the PSU and large case. It gives you enough power for your existing components and plenty of room for upgrades in the future. Better than going for one that only just powers your computer, which is a common problem.

As far as the price, yes, I have seen similar systems sold by name brand manufacturers going for $1,500 an up. I doub't I would get that much for it though, and in any case, I built this for personal use. I was just kind of curious is all. And I did save a bunch by building rather than buying. |

Re: How much could I sell this computer for?
If you dont mind, how much did you pay? on a side note, why 8gb of ram? I have 3 and never run into any ram problems. Also seems like you built a high dollar computer then stuck like a $55 gfx card in it.

Re: How much could I sell this computer for?
It meets my current gaming requ. though I will upgrade soon. You can never have enough RAM IMO, esp since most applications are becoming more RAM intensive. Cost me less than 1K including the OS (vista ultimate).
