Using a monitor for video games?
Hey everyone, in my room I currently have an old 24" tube TV which I use to play Wii and Gamecube, but I am eventually getting a PC and would like to purchase a 24" monitor.
Now in an effort to reduce clutter, I would like to use my monitor as a TV. Do they sell monitors that have composite cable input? Or would I need to find a composite to DVI converter to make my video games work on the monitor. I'm also worried about the resolution. The Wii only supports Standard Definition (640 x 480) but I would like to be able to get at least 1650 x 1050 for the PC. Finally, is there anyway to make my cable work on this (without buying a TV tuner card for the PC)? I can live without cable (the TV is used mainly for video games) but if I can make it work, that would be great. So is combining the two screens possible? If so, any recommendations on what to buy? I don't need the monitor for another 6 months or so, so I'm thinking waiting might be best, but I'd like to keep my eyes open for sales. |
