[SOLVED] Keyboard not working

When i boot up the computer i can get into BIOS and Boot menu with the keyboard. but once windows loads i have to put in a password and it will not type. You can hear a beeping sound inside the tower when you press a key but it will not type. Ive tried two PS/2 keyboards and 2 USB keyboards and same thing everytime. The specs are:

Emachine W3107
AMD Sempron 3100+
100GB SATA HDD
Windows XP Home
512 MB DDR
nVidia GeForce 6100 GPU

Re: Keyboard not working

Hi,
Can you get into the alternative start-up options by pressing F8 repeatedly during boot?
If so, first try to start with the "last known good configuration".

If that fails, and you can enter windows via F8 and Safe Mode, then run the System File Checker or System Restore.

For the File Checker, click Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt> and type in sfc/scannow
You will probably need your XP disc during this process.

System Restore is available from Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
