Computer shuts off

I started having this particular problem with my computer after I got a new power supply.

Whenever I play certain games my computer shuts of instantly and all the fans stop. All of the

lights stay on anything connected keeps charging. I then have to hold down the power button for 5

seconds to get the lights to turn off, then wait a minute or so to turn in back on. If I go to

the shut down window and hit reset it will go to the blue screen and say "Windows is shutting

down" and then my computer with shut off like I said above. Some game do it before I even get

past the first load (Hellgate) and other I can run on high settings for 30 minutes before it

shuts off (like Oblivion). Sometimes I can play a game for 6 or more hours one day but only 15

minutes the next. Also when I try to turn it on after a restart the fans turn of for like 1/3 of

a second and go off then I have to hold the power button again. Sometimes it will do that and

then it will come on completely in like 3 seconds. I have tried running extra fans and such and

monitored temps and nothing has shown to be high.
I have:
500 w Power supply
an WDC 80 gig and Hitachi 500 gig harddrive
an 8800gt
dual Pentium D 3.40 GHz CPU
2 gigs of ram
Creative SB Audigy 2
Intel 946GZ
