Monitor Blacks Out

I've recently bought a Hannspree monitor, to be precise, a Hannspree HF229H. Which is a LCD 22 inch widescreen, my first one.

However, lately (and I just got it yesterday), I've noticed its starting to 'blackout', its rare though, But it does happen. My brother had a similar problem, which turned out to be his video card. I really hope its not the cause for mine.

The monitor's resolution is set to 1680x1050. My video card can support it, apparently.

I'm running an eVGA GeForce 8600 GT, I have it overclocked to 600 core, 800 memory. Not to mention I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit). I'd really like to know why is my monitor blacking out. The connections are fine. Any suggestions on how to stop this is really appreciated.

Re: Monitor Blacks Out

Video Card: eVGA GeForce 8600 GT
CPU: Intel Pentium D 820 (2.80 GHz Dual Core)
Motherboard: Intel D945GCL
RAM: Corsair 2x1GB Value RAM (DDR2, PC2-5300)
Power Supply: Antec 300w "SmartPower"
Brand: eMachines T5224
Running: Normal system stuff, AVAST! Anti-Virus, HFS server, MSN, UAC Control is off (Vista Feature)
No error messages, outside of Diablo 2 crashing (Vista-Compatibility error)

My BIOS dosn't give me any info about temps (cheap Gateway BIOS), but I can tell you my Video card's temp, its at 59-61 c, and under stress, 65-75 c, with full speed on the fan.

As for voltages, cannot give you them as well, outside of CPU-Z saying that my RAM is using 1.8v.

Re: Monitor Blacks Out

Hi mate,
Tell what kind of software you used to run when these blackouts started to happens???
Did you run anything specific or it was just all of a sudden no matter what you did on PC???
Dai is right, it could be PSU because you have 300W and if it is 1,5-2 years old, then I can suggest you to get new one and try it on your PC...
Hope this will help you mate...

Re: Monitor Blacks Out

I'm running a 350watt, not 300, and its quite recent. I'm planning to get a job at my local Food Market, so I can update my computer more.
