my comp is overheating
some of the fans fell out of position and i dont know were they should go to provide proper cooling ive tried several positions but they all seem to leave the computer overheating and then turning off. im afriad i might mess up my computer to an unfixable point if i have to keep trying

Hi, how many fans do you have?
Ideally, you should have a 12cm quality fan at the front of your pc, bringing air into the case and a similar fan on the rear of the case taking the air back out; with as clear a path as possible through the case. No messy cables etc. Has your processor's Heatsink & Fan come loose? This would be the main culprit if your pc is switching itself off; the processor shutting itself down to avoid damage. You'll have to uninstall the heatsink & fan, clean the heatsink & processor, apply fresh thermal paste to the processor and reinstall the heatsink & fan. If you need instruction on how to do this, just ask.
