New writable DVD ruined on insertion
I purchased a BenQ DVD DD DW 1625 Lightscribe drive a couple of years ago and it has performed very well (except in dealing with RW disks, either CD or DVD). I just attempted a DVD+R burn moving files in Windows Explorer and I ruined four disks in the process (apparently I am a slow learner). The disk shows full immediately upon closing the drive door. This does not happen moving the same files to a CD-R. How do I isolate the culprit here.
I am using Nero Burn 6.6.1.15 that came packaged with the drive. OS is XP. Help is appreciated |

Re: New writable DVD ruined on insertion
I recorded on this same brand just two weeks ago and they were fine. Meanwhile I restored back to last successful DVD burn and that did not help. Interestingly I tried a new rewritable disk in my laptop which does not have a BENQ drive and it does the same thing. The one thing both computers have in common is Nero 6 (in both computers) which is no longer supported. Man! I'm running out of DVD+Rs just trying different things.
Before I buy a Nero Upgrad I would like to be fairly certain that ver 6 is the problem. Thanks for your input. |
