Something Wrong...any help?
Alright I have 3 computers and most of the time I do work on them myself, the basic stuff. Just recently my HP s3023 Slimline desktop computer has been acting up and no it is just useless! Whenever the computer starts up it acts fine and it runs for about 10 minutes and then the screen just goes all wacky and freezes! I have put a picture below hoping that someone will know something that might be going on with this, if you need more info just ask! I need all the help I can get!

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
Video card may be bad, or overheating.
Could be monitor, try hooking up monitor to a working machine and see what happens. What are the temps like on the machine in question?

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
Ok i used another working monitor from my newer computer and it did the same thing as the other one...so monitor is out.
Now the top of the computer where the power source is gets hot, but it has always done that because it is a slimline, u know smaller less space taken up and all... I dont know temps cause even if i wanted to I couldnt run a program long enough before the screen does its thing, only have like 5 min... |

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
I would open up the case, run a house fan on it and see what
happens. You may have fried the video card, but you never know. Regardless the heat is not a good thing for any of your components. Cpu could be overheating, psu may be going out...For now I would do as mentioned above. Try blowing out any dust around fans and what not..might help

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
Pull video card out and inspect heatsink fan, I have seen heatsinks
fall off of video cards, glue gives it up, especially in a hot enviornment. May need to pull cpu hsf off clean and reapply thermal paste. Let it cool and insure your fans are spinning on said heatsinks..

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
alright i did the update for the gfx driver that you provided and I am waiting to see if it does it again, its still ok only been 5 min though..
Also if its a onboard built in gfx card how do i check where that is? I have no clue what a onboard one looks like, i have installed them before but that is a little different. |

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
I didnt say anything about a driver update, I think you getting your
posts confused. I really doubt a driver update is going to fix your problem.

Re: Something Wrong...any help?
try the card in another computer to see if it's still the same
it's either bad ram on the card or power or a combination of both in the device manager uninstall the card reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode when windows finishes rebooting disable a/virus install your drivers reboot the computer
