I have a older computer that has a load pwer supply

How can I make my pwer supply quiet. The load sound it makes is a I believe coming from the fan or the pwer supply. It is a ATX pwer supply. Would I need to change the entire pwer supply or can I just change the fan?

Re: I have a older computer that has a load pwer supply

YOu would most likely need to change the whole power supply, we never recommend taking a PSU apart because of the charge they keep in there which can be dangerous. However, have you taken a can of air and blown the dust out of there? That can cause the noise you are hearing if it is dirty in there.

Re: I have a older computer that has a load pwer supply

The quietest I know of in a regular ATX board is the Seasonic Brand. That is all I use in my two personal rigs.
