computer locks up

Gooday. I have an acer tower. Every now and then it locks up. I can't move the mouse and nothing works, the screen is still on whatever it was I was doing. I have to hit the reset button and start again. Any clues to fix it.

Got the following, hope it is what you need.
PSU? the only sticker on the side is 0000112710 AT 1300-266
Video Card. Nvidia Corp GeForce2 MX 100/200 (DDR) (NV!!DDR)
m/b not shore what this is but phisical memory is 576mb
power supply is AOpen
wattage is - output 250w.
Hope this is what you need.

I did that and it came up- insert windows xp professional service pack 2 cd into drive- I don't have one, will have to see if I can borrow one
