Confused small annoyance

a small annoyance, my speakers have just started to have a very faint hummm or static if you will... like when you mute or pause your media...

drivers, new card or speaker wire???

might want to try them on another computer to see if it speakers or something else. also have you added anything new recently, anything wireless located around it.
