[SOLVED] A problem with microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse

Hi, I had an electrical blackout since then my wireless mouse and keyboard stoped working
When i try to reboot the reciever it has lights running for a while and then it stops and has no lights at all. I tried to unplug USB, windows writes that a new hardwear was found but some problem occured and the installation might go wrong (and it does i guess coz the mouse and the keyboard aren't working). I tried changing the batteries (didnt work). I have them for a couple of years and it worked ok, sometimes had some troubles but eventually unpluging USB did the work. but not this time, someone has an idea how to help me? :(

Re: A problem with microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse

try the reset buttons on the mouse, keyboards, and receivers. Maybe they cannot find each other.

If that does not work, tell what models do you have?

Re: A problem with microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse

I have a Gigabyte motherboard GA-Ma69VM-S2 to that will also stop the wireless keyboard and mouse from working if the power is cut from the computer without turning it off first.
I have found that the only way to get it two work is to go clear the cmos and restart then reset everything or toggle the usb keyboard and mouse settings in the cmos then restart.
It does not matter if I have the keyboard and mouse setting in the cmos set for enable or disable the only way to get it to work again is to either toggle it and restart or clear the cmos and restart. Spent a lot of time working on this My grandson was turning of the computer by the power strip not shutting down using windows.
hope this helps. I used a standard keyboard to get into cmos. then removed it let computer restart

repost if this works I registered here just to tell you what I did to fix this problem

somehow it came to life... I restarted my computer and unplugged the receiver in the same time, so it somehow worked...

Re: A problem with microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse

I for one was going crazy trying to figure it out until I found it was the kids cutting it off by cutting off the power. I think it is a problem with the bios for the Gigabyte motherboard because in my case it will not even see it a boot until I do one of the two things I listed.
