Connecting front case firewire to p-pin internal header
Hi,
I am not particularly good with wiring diagrams, due to a spatial learning disability. I recently bought a SYBA IEEE 1394a FireWire PCI Card with Internal 9-pin Header Model SD-VIA-FW1E1H from Newegg. I want to connect the IEEE FireWire on the front panel of my case to the 9-pin internal header on the card. The Instruction sheet for the card: Optional Internal 2x5 (9-pin) 1394a Pin Header The internal 9-pin Header connections are: The diagram that came with the card shows Pin 1 designation as: Pin 1 () is the top left pin (o) o o o o o o o o And this: 1 TPA+* *TPA- 2 3 GND * *GND 4 5 TPB+* *TPB- 6 7 +12v* *+12v 8 9 * *GND 10 WIRES FOR CASE FRONT PANEL: The 7 connectors from the front case panel are: TPA (light blue wire) TPA + (light pink wire) TPB (light green wire) TPB + (dark pink wire) VP (white wire) VG (shiny black wire) GND (dull black wire) I am NOT sure 100% how to connect the front panel connectors to the PCI card 9-pin internal Header. Where do I connect the VP and VG wires? Does it matter which GND I use on the card to connect the GND wire from the case? If someone could diagram how they should go, I appreciate any help anyone has to offer. Thanks, Maximom ![]() Last edited by Maximom : 05-11-2008 at 10:39 PM. |
