PS2 Keyboard & USB mouse... Conflict?

Our wireless keyboard has gone bad so I've temporarily replaced it with a PS2 keyboard, now Windows isn't recognizing my USB mouse (either of them I've tried two) and the only message I receive is "One of the USB devices attached to this has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

It was recognizing it before the PS2 keyboard was installed. What causes the conflict between the two? And, is there a solution?

Now its not recognizing any of my USB devices

Now whenever I plug any usb device (ie mouse) it recognizes that a device has been plugged in, searches for drivers, installs as unknown device then puts up the same old message

"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance, click this message"

Plus, the light that usually glowed on the mouse is not glowing.

Another update: My 1gb Flash Drive works in all of my usb ports. It's not technically "recognized", but it lights up and I can open all of the files inside of it.

Hope someone that may have some tips reads this
