Hey i want to comment a problem that it's been annoying me in the past month. i have a dell(XP pro) computer with a wireless mouse(also dell) at work, and the mouse stopped working for some reason. It's hard to explain but the cursor was going back to the same point on the screen when i tried to move it somewhere else
or making small movements by itself . The first time i deleted the drivers and when plugged it back and it worked again but during the next weeks it happened over and over again and it got worse because it also started clicking by itself![]() ![]() , restarting the computer or turning it off didn't help at all, i also tried to change to another mouse, running anti viruses(safe mode and normal mode), i tried using corded mouse, and a logitech mouse, but i still had the same problem. finally i decided to format the computer and that's how i fixed it.BUT NOW this problem followed me to my house .... my home computer(vista ultimate x64) started doing the same *&%*. i got worried and my first thought it is that is a virus then i thought that i might be some problem with a windows update or something like that, but i have no idea what to do ... as i said i tried everything. deleting drivers, updating them changing mouse, running anti virus. this is really pissing me off. sometimes the mouse starts working after a little while but sometimes it takes hours, and deleting the drivers doesn't help anymore. i would really appreciate some help ![]() thanks |

Re: Mouse coming back to the same point on screen
Hey thanks for replying. but i can't find an option that could be related to my problem.
My home computer did this only once, and my work computer kept doing it so i decided to format it and for 2 weeks i thought the problem was solved and that i wouldn't see it again but somehow the *&%&*^%& problem came back. any other suggestion will be great thanks. |

Re: Mouse coming back to the same point on screen
HI, this is extremely strange. A mouse misbehaving on 2 seperate computers, even when you change the mouse.
Have you installed any software, both on your works and home pc's that affects pointing devices? Cos this is really weird.

Re: Mouse coming back to the same point on screen
well i can't think on a software that does that but some of the softwares installed in both computers are:
-Acronis disk director -TeamViewer -AVG -Photoshop CS3 -Office 2008 -Mozilla Firefox -CCleaner ... nothing that could affect the computer .... i barely touch my mouse and am getting used to use only the keyboard to move around windows lol. i know this sounds totally crazy. thanks for your time. |

Re: Mouse coming back to the same point on screen
Hi, apparently this aint as crazy as we think...............i searched and there are lots of folk with the same problem. Mostly Dell.
A quick fix i found was....quote: I now use my mouse connected via a PS2 to USB converter, obviously plugged into the PS2 mouse port and it's working fine.:unquote I'll need to do some more research on this, and i'll get back to you asap.
