Monitor down

The onboard video on my motherboard went bad and caused 2 monitors to quit working. The green light won't come on on either monitor. Anyone got any ideas or should I throw them out? Thanks.

Re: Monitor down

Yes I have. Neither works. Wondering if there is something common that goes wrong when the monitor is damged from the onboard video. Hate to throw away 2 monitors.

Re: Monitor down

no green light on the monitors mean no signal right?

seems almost impossible that a failing motherboard could damage a monitor. unless may be there is a short on the mobo that could have backfired to the monitor.

Re: Monitor down

The green light I refer to is the LED next to the on/off switch. It normally comes on when you turn on the monitor.

Re: Monitor down

looks like they are gone. test them on another computer (and pray ). seriously, unless there is a fuse somewhere that you can plug in again; i think they need serious repair.
