Peripherals not working. NEED HELP ASAP
Hi, I have been running (Sigh) Vista, for about 3 months now. I have had no problems with my peripherals before. I recently took my computer apart to put my dvd driver back in place and after that everything works until I get onto my desktop. If I run BIOS before I get to the desktop before I get to my desktop everything is fine, i can use my keyboard and mouse. However, when I get to my desktop I can not move my mouse nor can I use my keyboard. I have tried most things I know but I cannot get anywhere. I'd take it to my local PC store but they tend to rip people off and coming out worse. If anyone can help me it would be a great help. Please get back to me ASAP. Thankyou.

Re: Peripherals not working.
Totalant,
I'm a little confused about your references to your "desktop". Are you talking about a different PC or the Windows "Desktop". If you're talking about problems with the SAME PC - basically I'm hearing that things went bad after you installed a DVD drive in this PC. As far as the references to the BIOS setup - what did you change in the bios setup? Sorry for my confusion/ignorance. I want to help, but don't quite understand exactly what's going on. Please reply with the make/model of your PC. The make/model/type of your mouse & keyboard (i.e. Logitech, Microsoft, Wireless, Wired, USB, etc). Also, tell me more about the DVD drive (make/model) as well as the type of connection (IDE, USB)? I'm thinking that your problem won't be hard to fix if I have a better understanding of your hardware and what you changed. - John |
