Water on wireless keyboard, Sony Viao
I'm posting this for my friend from my laptop, so I may not know everything about his computer, but I'll try. He has a Sony PCV V300G with the wireless mouse and laptop. Yesterday, a little bit of water spilled on the upper left corner of his keyboard (right where the electronics are, of course). Cleaned it off, and the computer worked fine until 7 or so hours later. That evening, it started not typing the letters he wanted, continuously typing a Z, having random programs start, not typing letters, and things of that nature. This morning, the computer won't fully start. It goes through the entire process of "Windows is starting, for advanced options press F8", and right when windows would start, the screen goes black. Mouse moves, nothing more. Is this from the keyboard? Would simply getting a new keyboard solve this? Any thoughts or help, please??? I know it's not that terrible of a problem, but with what we do for work, not having access to a computer is very detrimental and money is tight right now. Would there be anyway that he could access his computer through my laptop?
Thanks for any help! Allison |

Re: Water on wireless keyboard, Sony Viao
im Extreemly confused here! right first thing are you talkin about a Wirless keyboard and mouse or the Keybord thats built into the laptop??????? what you should of done if u spilt water on the Acturl laptop keyboard its self Directly after wipeing it remove the battrie and stand the laptop in a warm place i.e near your heater cus this will Dry up any execess water that may of soaked through. Second thing is when you say the screen goes bacl but you can move the mouse are you saying that the mouse pointer is moving around on the screen??? (this would mean its acturly boooted into windows but just crashed on loading or taking along while to process something.) if this is the case and there is not so much data that you cant lose you can always try a system recorvery see if that could fix the startup problem.
let me know about all my questions and ill try and help you as much as i can |

The pointer of the mouse IS moving around. I wanted to try to start the computer up in the safe mode, but without the keyboard working, I don't know how I would do that. Thanks so much for replying! My friend is starting to panic since this is a relatively new computer and he's not very computer savvy. |
