running real slow after new harddrive

basicly my old harddrive went bad and kept causing blue screens and I got it replaced and had some bios error fixed as well. so it runs ok now but everything just seems to run slow, which wasn't a problem with the old one. firefox, any media players, whatever just runs slow. I've tried using Registry Booster and Speed Up My PC but it's hasn't helped. it's almost a fresh xp install after the new harddrive was put in, all the programs are gone but some of my files from the old harddrive are still here.

Re: running real slow after new harddrive

I don't see a model make. what your old one was. or what your new one is. "nor" do i see what size the old one was and the new one is now. if your new one is a smaller size and u loaded it up to the brim ( mmm coffee... ) with all the stuff u had on your old one. its going to run slow cause it would have troubles accessing files and programs etc etc needed to run smoothly cause its so stuffed with memory
