Unknown Hardware

I Got A HP Pavilion a5060a Last Year Febuary and it came with this cord that when pluged into the microphone port on the front a red light turns i have put some pics of it up on Flickr so you can see it may be infared but yea i hope you can help

It's not infrared (since you can clearly see it :D
I believe it's a cable used to connect to a digital Audio device (where the data is transmitted by light)
I recommend to check your manuals or just get them HERE
