Okay, for three days now i have spent working on my friends computer, he has an AMD Athalon 64 4200+ Dual core, a 600 watt power supply, 2 gigs of PNY 667 DDR2, a new MSI K9A2-CF and a Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT.
Now all the parts are new and for some reason vista is completely stable and runs fine but as soon as he starts playing something like Guild Wars or World of warcraft, about twenty to thirty seconds in the system COMPLETELY locks up, no hard drive access nothing and is only recoverable by hard reseting. I have checked the RAM using Memtest, and its clear. like i said all the hardware is new except his one year old SATA HD. I really could use some help.... Thanks... |

Re: Need help with unsolvable issue...
Well i hate to say it but i found the problem, thanks to Nvidia their drivers were causing the issues all along, apparently its a massive issue with Vista and Nvidia, im just gonna wait until they get their **** together and deal with it then, thanks for the reply though.
