what psu do i need?
I currently have a 400watt psu that supplies power to:
Aplus monolize II case with led light up on the front and Blue illuminated adjustable 250 mm fan in the side door asus p4s800 motherboard processor - 3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 8 kilobyte primary memory cache 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache (with cpu fan) ST3120026A [Hard drive] (120.03 GB) GoldStar CD-RW CED-8120B ATA Device [CD-ROM drive] TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H352A ATA Device [CD-ROM drive 1024 Megabytes Installed Memory radeon 9800 pro graphics card belkin g wireless card floppy disk drive mouse, keyboard, lg flatron l1710b monitor I want to install: a 500-750 (probably external) hard drive a 80gb hard drive a 120 mm fan do i need a bigger psu, or can i just use Y molex cables to add more devices |

If your power supply is a good solid brand name with decent efficiency, then a 400 most likely will do the job for you. If it is an off-brand, no name supply, then I would be looking for a new supply in the 450 to 500 watt range for this rig. I had a similar rig not too long ago (my spare computer) and with a 400 watt Antec supply, it ran fine. You could give it a try and see if you have an difficulties, don't think it would harm anything to try it.
