No sound coming from my speakers

I recently started using my own computer again, but the only problem I'm having is that there is no sound coming out of the speakers. I believe I'm using Windows XP and I have some Logitech speakers. They are plugged in and the green light is on, but there is no sound whether I watch a movie or play some music. Thanks for any help

Hi demonhuntr64 Welcome to TSF
Have you checked you sound and multi media settings in your control panel and make sure that the sound is not muted?
