compaq power problems....

hi, hope you can help me, I have a compaq presario laptop 1215EA which in normal conditions is great, however, it never seems to charge up the battery. The maximum I've ever got it to charge to is 17% and that goes in about 10 minutes.

I've just bought a new battery to replace the old one as I thought this might help but all to no avail.

any ideas before I recycle the damn thing as a frisbee

hey doggydingle,

could be the main board? Is that the only prob your having?
