Windows Pro XP2 doesn't see my MP3 Player anymore
When I updated Windows XP Pro to SP2 from SP1 I couldn't access my SkyMP3 USB device anymore. In fact I had SP2 on the computer initially and it wouldn't recognize the device as a drive. It was only when I tried it on a computer that hadn't had the SP2 update that it worked fine. When the other computer was updated to SP2 the drive then disappeared.
I have seen others with problems similar with Flash memory devices. I tried downloading a patch from MSoft for a similar device but I got a message saying my SP2 was already updated to that level. I have USB2 and at lest eight ports. When I go into Device Manager and look at the USB devices I cannot tell which port is the one my player is connected to. there seem to be no unique names. Has anyone had similar problems |

USB Problems
Hi!
Well I didn't have the same problem as you but one of my USB 2 devices was not recognized (but I don't have SP2). If your USB host controller is a SiS one try the WinXP patch from this web... (I don't know what happens if the host controller isn't a SiS) http://www.usbman.com/Guides/SiS%20U...d%20Tricks.htm Try all the site, it might be useful See you! |
