NEC 3500A Internal DVD Dual Layer Install

This is the first time I will be installing a new internal dvd / cd player. I have received the player today but should I have an install or driver cd for this hardware? If I need drivers where can I get them from?

If I don't need an install cd I presume I just plug in the power, ide ribbon and sound card cables and the computer will recognise the new device for me. I have set the jumper to slave as I have another drive set on master.

Athlon A63 3200+
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
1GB Ram
500w Power Supply
Audigy ZS Sound
XFX 6800 GT Graphics

Any advice much appreciated.

Hopefully your windows XP should recognize the player but it is best to have the drivers for the player/burner. You can get them from NEC web site.
